The Osiris essential oil is one of the sacred oils of Ancient Egypt. It uses the authentic Madjet formula used by the ancient Egyptians in their ceremonies to Osiris.
The formula in the temple of Edfu is not specific but generic. There was a holiday Madjet and one for everyday. This oil binds the members of God (in memory of the dismemberment of Osiris) and removes the odor. They also specify the mode of application.
The basis of the formula was the fat of an ox. Its fat is placed in a stone pot with a lid and stored for one year. Then it is perfumed with pine resin, aspálato, reed rhizome, juniper berries and pine nuts. A strong aroma of red pulp remained for hours.
